A very personal review of our family holiday last week to the Hotel L'Aigle...

There is a line in our marketing material that keeps running through my head since returning from my Snowcoach trip last week: "It's not just a holiday, it's the people you meet and the friends you keep"

Whilst I obviously keep up to date with resort, it's been a few years since I have been physically able to get there (living abroad myself and having two young children), so I was excited to be able to finally visit the Hotel L'Aigle, and experience New Year in Valmeinier.

We arrived on Saturday morning bleary eyed from our long car journey and was greeted by a hot and hearty breakfast with the most delicious scrambled eggs, and a buzzing atmosphere from people having thoroughly enjoyed their holiday, ready to return home, and the new arrivals eager to get up on the slopes.

Once we collected our lift passes and got our ski hire sorted (thank you Neil :-)) we walked up the steps and were straight onto the piste. Having spent the last few years doing the traditional Saturday to Saturday ski holiday, being able to ski on the Saturday that we arrived and departed was such a bonus.  We had private slopes both days and to end our holiday with such an incredible days skiing was an absolute highlight.

All the five children in our group (ranging in ages from 5 to 9) went into ESF (ski school) and participated every morning which they thought was fantastic. They, along with the other Snowcoach children, got picked up by the wonderful Kids Club Reps Hannah & Olivia; and taken back to the hotel after ski school. Hannah and Olivia helped the kids put all their ski stuff back into their rooms and then after lunch, entertained the kids all afternoon (whilst we were free to carry on skiing). Experiencing a treasure hunt up at Valmeinier 2000, Bingo and Sledging, when we picked the kids up at 4.30pm, they didn't want to leave!

After a round of tea and cakes, a soak in the hot tub with a well earned beer, it was time for kids dinner and then a pre-dinner drink for us at the hotel bar, served by the wonderful Megan. Once we got the kids in bed, we were served a delicious four course dinner with a very drinkable red and white wine (included), served to our table. Each day as the cheese board came, I promised myself I wouldn’t partake, but the delicious French cheese was just too good to pass up (even after three delicious courses!).

I can’t name all the staff here, but a few who made our trip special: Philippe on reception, Noa and Josh, the management team, Grace in the restaurant and the kitchen team. They are all doing a superb job.

It was with sadness that we left the Hotel L'Aigle and the amazing team at the end of the week. And as I said, our marketing material states, a Snowcoach holiday is very much most definitely, NOT just a holiday, it is all about the people you meet and the friends that you keep. For us, this totally rings true and it was most definitely a holiday not to be forgotten.

From one very satisfied customer (and Head Office staff member) I really hope, if you haven’t been able to visit us in resort yet, I can only recommend that you do.

We look forward to welcoming you in resort in the near future.
